KORTRIGHT - A tractor-trailer rollover accident Saturday, Aug. 27, sent the driver to the hospital with minor injuries, according to a press release from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Delaware County 911 received the call from the operator of the tractor-trailer, Michael Rowe, 61, Sidney, stating he was involved in a motor vehicle accident, traveled off the roadway and had rolled over on state Highway 23 in Kortright.

Rowe reported that while operating the tractor-trailer, he left the right side of the roadway and was unable to regain control, resulting in the truck traveling down a steep embankment. The trailer detached from the tractor resulting in the trailer rolling several times before coming to rest at the bottom of the embankment.

Rowe was transported by Headwater EMS to AO Fox Hospital for treatment of injuries.

In addition to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Davenport, Bovina and Stamford Fire Departments were on scene, along with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Response Team.

The investigation into the crash is continuing and tickets are expected to be issued, the press release stated.
