Kenneth Francis Roberts, aged 76, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 25, 1949 in Walton to Louis Francis Roberts and Irene Gertrude Kahrs Roberts. After graduating from Walton High School and lettering in baseball and wrestling, he graduated from SUNY Delhi, and went on to Ohio State University.
After college, he proudly joined the United States Navy. He served on the USS WASP CV18 in the position of yeoman.
After serving his country, he spent the first part of his career in New York selling ladies’ handbags to high end stores. After relocating to Georgia, he became a security consultant for Sonitrol, then ADT, and finally finding his niche at Ackerman.
After retiring from Ackerman, he found fulfillment as a skilled carpenter, so much so that he opened up his own business called Retired Wood Kreations. His most popular items were wooden American flags and serving trays. He also made rustic furniture that was sold in the popular Painted Monkey down on Canton Street.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan, his sister Dorothy Roberts Desbiens and her husband William, his three sons Scott, Brian, and Christopher, grandson Cooper, stepchildren Abigail Conley and husband Justin, and Arthur Brewer, his nieces Ann Marion and husband Tom, Jackie Papuzza and husband Jim, and many grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Louis Francis Roberts, his mother Irene Gertrude Roberts and his niece Terry Herwerth.
A celebration of his life was held at Southcare Cremation and Funeral Society, 595 Franklin Gateway, Marietta, Georgia.
