John Edward DeBias, 51, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2025.
John was a kind, caring, and loving soul—someone whose presence made life a little brighter for everyone around him. He had a deep love for his nieces and nephews, who were the light of his life: Katalina, Thomas, Zackary, Paige, Deagan, Gideon, Phoebe, Landon, Renley, and Greyson. “Uncle Johnny” was not just a title—it was his greatest honor.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings: brother Toby DeBias (Cori), sisters Casey Anderson (George), Indea Knapp (Jeffrey), and Hope Egnaczak-Martin (Tk), with whom he shared a unique and special bond.
John was a helper by nature—always offering his time, encouragement, and support to anyone who needed a hand or a kind word. Whether helping others reach their goals or simply showing up as a great friend, John’s compassion touched many lives.
He is now reunited with his beloved parents, Candice DeBias and Thomas Egnaczak Jr., who welcomed him with open arms.
There will be no calling hours. A small service will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at Trout Creek Community Church in Trout Creek. John’s final resting place will be at his favorite childhood play area—McMurdy Brook—a place full of treasured memories, peace, and joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott NY 13760 and/or Autism Speaks - causes close to his heart.
