It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jean B. Munson, who left this world on Jan. 20, 2025, at the age of 78. Jean was born on July 20, 1946 to her parents Gordan Birdsall and Louise Mogridge, in Walton. She lived a life dedicated to education, compassion, and family. Residing in Sidney Center, she touched the lives of many as a devoted teacher’s aide at BOCES in Walton and Delhi where she inspired countless students with her kindness and dedication.
During her retirement years, Jean enjoyed working on puzzle books, feeding and watching birds and walking the dog around the trail. She was truly grateful for those that were there when needed, and the family is appreciative for the support her family and others gave her.
Jean is survived by her two beloved sons, Justin Munson and Lance Munson of Sidney Center, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also mourned by her cherished siblings, sisters Mary Lambrecht of Walton, Patricia Patrick of Powell, Tennessee, and Joyce Tweedie of Walton, along with her brother, Gordon Birdsall of Sidney Center, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private celebration of life will be held at the Courtney Funeral Home. Jean will be laid to rest in the spring at the Highland Cemetery, Franklin Depot Road, Sidney Center.
Jean B. Munson will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
