Jason T. McGlone of East Branch, a head cook at Delaware Valley Job Corps. Center and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the line of duty while responding to an emergency call. He was 51.

The son of Evelyn Scherf McGlone and the late Thomas John McGlone, he was born June 14, 1974 in Huntington.

Jason was a 25 year member and acting Assistant Chief for East Branch Fire Department and previously served as Fire Police Captain for five years. Jason was a very dedicated fireman who spent countless hours training and loved to teach kids about fire safety. He was looking forward to volunteering at the Delaware County Fair Fire Prevention Tent this summer.

Jason loved to cook and barbecue for his friends, family and for church and charity events. He competed in many cooking competitions. Jason has also helped with Wreaths Across America fundraising and has placed wreaths at the East Branch Cemetery in honor of our veterans.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing each year with his children and friends. He was a history buff and collected books and movies and was known to be a walking history book himself.
