Horse Health Takes Center Stage at Delancey Demonstration

DELANCEY — Horse owners and enthusiasts can learn more about equine chiropractic care and acupuncture during a free demonstration Saturday, Oct. 17, at Windswept Acres Appaloosas.

The program, “Keeping Your Horse Comfortable & Moving Well: Equine Chiropractic & Acupuncture Demo,” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the farm of Carol and Kevin Gutliph, 1499 Arbuckle Hollow Road.

Andrea Balcom, DVM, will conduct a live demonstration, walking attendees through a chiropractic and acupuncture examination and treatment. She will explain what veterinarians look for during an examination, how those findings help guide treatment and how chiropractic care and acupuncture can complement traditional veterinary care.

The demonstration will address potential applications for horses of all types, including performance horses whose owners are seeking to optimize comfort and performance, as well as older horses needing support for mobility and quality of life.

The program is free, but registration is required by Oct. 15.
