Headwaters Arts Center to Host Abstract Watercolor Workshop with Kamilla Talbot

STAMFORD - The Headwaters Arts Center will offer a morning workshop on June 13 led by artist and instructor Kamilla Talbot, inviting participants to explore abstraction through watercolor’s fluid and translucent properties.

Titled Abstract Watercolor, the three-hour session, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will emphasize process over finished product, guiding students through exercises that begin with observation and move toward invention. The aim, according to organizers, is to allow “discoveries along the way” as participants respond to materials rather than predetermined outcomes.

Talbot, a local artist whose work incorporates loose watercolor technique, will provide structured prompts as well as individualized feedback. The workshop will also include discussion on how to evaluate artistic success, both in one’s own work and in that of others.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own watercolor or gouache supplies, though materials will also be available on site. The class is open to all skill levels.

Talbot is an instructor at the Art Students League in New York City and has taught at several other institutions.

The workshop will be held at the Headwaters Arts Center in Stamford. Registration is offered on a tiered pricing scale of $25, $40, or $50.
