Hanford Mills Museum received a $40,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). Through New York state’s continued investment in arts and culture, NYSCA has awarded $82 million this year to 509 artists and 1,497 organizations across the state.

Hanford Mills Museum offers insights into the past and lessons about the relationships between people, the things they make, and the places they live. As one of only a handful of operating water-powered mills, the museum has earned a place on both the National and NYS Registers of Historic Places.
