A two-day artificial insemination training for cattle producers will be held June 26–27 at locations in Walton and South New Berlin.
The program begins Thursday, June 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Walton Agricultural Conservation Center, 44 West St., Conference Room B, Walton. It continues Friday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southtown Dairy, 868 County Road 18, South New Berlin, where lunch will be provided.
The training will combine classroom instruction with hands-on practice using live animals, led by Select Sires specialists. Space is limited and registration is first come, first served. The cost is $250 per participant.
Discounts are available for BQA-certified producers through a BQA grant, as well as for Watershed Agricultural Program participants. Eligible farmers must contact Meghan Potter at mp2356@cornell.edu or 607-435-5303 before registering to receive a discount code.
The program is designed to provide practical breeding skills in a two-day format, with classroom instruction followed by on-farm application.
