The 62nd annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta returns May 22–24, transforming the upper Susquehanna River valley into a hub of racing, entertainment, and family fun. What began in 1963 as a single-day, 70-mile canoe race from Cooperstown to Bainbridge has grown into a four-day festival attracting competitors and spectators from across the globe.
The original race saw 45 boats and a winning time of nearly 12 hours. Today, top racers finish in just over 6½ hours, competing for more than $25,000 in prizes, including a $3,000 first-place award. Events now include 5K runs, wrestling, carnival rides, food, fireworks, and entertainment for all ages.
