Frederick H. Ehlermann, a 42-year area resident, entered into rest on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at his home in Westtown. He was 80 years of age.
The son of the late Henry F. and Lenore Reiger Ehlermann, he was born on April 25, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio. Fred moved from Toledo with his family to a farm on Ehlermann Road, Delhi, when he was two years old. He attended Delaware Academy and Central School and graduated with the Class of 1962.
Fred was the owner and operator of F & E Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Inc. in Middletown. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Fred was a member of the German-American Club.
Survivors include his three sons, Michael F. Ehlermann and his wife Jane, Mark R. Ehlermann and his wife Erin, and Matthew H. Ehlermann and his wife Daphne; his grandchildren Ashlee Ehlermann, Jacquilin, Joseph and Jasmine West, Andrew and Ryan Ehlermann, Danielle, Brayden and Ember Ehlermann; his great-grandchildren David and Aria Kurtz; his sisters Marlene Baldauf and Alma Williamson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fred was predeceased by his grandson Tanner Ehlermann, sisters Meta Knous and Barbara MacClintock, and brother Franklin Ehlermann.
Cremation took place at the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Interment of cremains with military honors will be in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
