FRANKLIN — A new shed — and a greener, more vibrant Franklin — may soon bloom from the soil of generosity.
On Sunday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Franklin Improvement Society will host a “Plants, Etc. Sale” at the Franklin Farmers’ Market, located at 25 Institute Street. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a much-needed storage shed for the Franklin Memorial Park and Edible Walking Trail, as well as other community enhancement projects supported by the Society.
Organizers are calling on local gardeners and plant enthusiasts to contribute items for the sale. Donations of perennials, annuals, houseplants, trees, shrubs, seeds, seedlings, garden tools and décor, as well as plant containers and gardening books, are all welcome. Donated plants should be clearly labeled with their common names.
Items can be dropped off at the market between 8:30 and 10 a.m. on the morning of the event. For those unable to deliver in person, arrangements can be made through a member of the Improvement Society or via private message on the group’s Facebook page.
With spring in full swing, the sale offers an opportunity to support Franklin’s public spaces — and take home something beautiful in return.
Gardeners and garden-curious alike are encouraged to save the date. For more information or to coordinate donations, visit the Franklin Improvement Society on Facebook.
