Franklin Central School’s fifth grade class won a pizza party through their participation in the December holiday spirit week. Marshall and Sherri, owners of Marshall’s Pizzeria in Franklin, kindly opened their doors so the class could have their pizza party at the restaurant.
Marshall and Sherri incorporated a math lesson by having students use division to split dough into eight individual personal pizzas. They also worked on math skills to determine the amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings to go on each pizza. As students waited for their pizzas to cook, they were tasked with spending $20 on menu items. Once the pizzas were finished, the kids were surprised with garlic knots and cookies.
The kids had a wonderful and delicious, time. Thank you, Marshall’s Pizzeria.
