The Franklin Community Pool is open from 1-8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 1-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 1:30-5:45 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Adult water aerobics is at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Word Thursday Poetry at Bright Hill Press, 94 Church Street, Treadwell, Thursday, July 24 at 7 p.m. Poets Virginia Schwartz and Leslie Sharpe will read.

Greater Franklin Food Pantry, 574 Main Street, will be open Friday, July 25 from 2-4 p.m. or by appointment. The Greater Franklin Food Pantry provides food for members of our community and is sustained through non-expired food and monetary donations. 

The Franklin Stage Company, 25 Institute Street, will present Magdalen, a one-woman show created and performed by Erin Layton. This is a fictional exploration of the women and children who passed through the Magdalen Laundries in Ireland. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 27 at 5 p.m. Admission-free theater - no donation is too large.

Find a good book, audio-book, or video at the Franklin Free Library, 334 Main Street. The hours are Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.; Wednesdays 2-8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-2p.m. Tomes and Scones Book Club meets Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. This month’s book: “The Women” by Kristin Hannah. At 7 p.m. the Franklin Film Forum will feature “The Kid from Left Field,” a romantic comedy featuring baseball. Micheal Paxton will present the film. 

The Franklin Farmers’ Market on the lawn at 25 Institute Street, Sunday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local meat, fresh farm produce, baked goods, and crafts are available for purchase. 

The Franklin Railroad and Community Museum, 572 Main Street, will be open Sunday, July 27 from 1-4 p.m.

Color Our World summer reading program will present The Dirtmeister! with the “Bouncing and Bending Light” program at the Franklin Free Library, 334 Main Street Tuesday, July 29 at 10 a.m. Making Carnival Costumes at the library Thursday, July 31 at 1 p.m. The costumes will be worn at the next Color Our World program Bloco from da Block - celebrating Brazilian music and culture - Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m.
