February on Foot: Catskill Mountain Club Hikes

Posted

The Catskill Mountain Club, a 22-year-old grassroots nonprofit devoted to non-motorized outdoor recreation, will offer a full slate of free, member-led hikes across the Catskill Mountains in February, inviting both seasoned hikers and newcomers to explore some of the region’s best-known peaks and quieter corners.

Founded to promote hiking, paddling and biking—and to advocate for public access to the outdoors—the club organizes trips throughout the year at no cost to participants. Each outing is led by experienced members familiar with the terrain and conditions.

The February schedule includes:

• Sunday, Feb. 8 (9 a.m.–1 p.m.) — Rochester Hollow Trails

• Tuesday, Feb. 10 (8 a.m.–6 p.m.) — Plateau, Sugarloaf, Twin and Indian Head Mountains

• Friday, Feb. 13 (8 a.m.–2 p.m.) — North Dome and Mount Sherrill
