Cornell Cooperative Extension Delaware County will present to school food service staff, farm producers interested in direct sales, and prekindergarten through grade 12 educators how to prepare products for sale to institutional customers, explore possibilities to enrich classrooms and lunch trays. Enjoy a menu of child nutrition recipes prepared with Delaware County ingredients.
This “eat and greet” event will be held Tuesday, May 20, from 2 - 5 p.m. at Camp Shankitunk, 2420 Arbor Hill Road, Delhi. A menu of child nutrition recipes prepared with Delaware County ingredients will be available.
Food service staff can glean procurement and preparation tips, recipes, and local sourcing. Farm producers can learn to prepare and position your products and the logistics of selling to schools, and educators can share resources and participate in a hands-on lesson.
This event will be an opportunity to balance inventories and nourish our students with the best of what Delaware County has to offer.
