The 135th Delaware County Fair is shaping up to be a return to normalcy, with a full slate of entertainment in the Curtis Lumber Free Entertainment Court.  The tent is located between A and B gates, close to the free parking lot on the grounds.

Monday will start off with returning fan favorites Buffalo Barfield, Illusionist David Garrity, Randy Hulse - Band of One, and Danny Grant’s Cowboy Circus.  All of these acts will continue throughout the week with various sets - check the schedule at the tent for times.

Buffalo Barfield’s Unherd of Entertainment is a mix of traditional Country & Western, Swing, Folk, Bluegrass, old-time Gospel, and Jug-band music. They will perform three sets each day. They are a fan favorite and are a much-requested act to return each year.

David Garrity is an illusionist who brings a family friendly show with magic and illusions that will appeal to all ages. He will perform every day, but the time varies so be sure to pick which show is best for you, or plan on taking in more than one during the week.

Randy Hulse - Band of One will perform three times on two days, Monday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at noon and 2 p.m. Waltonians will be familiar with his multi-faceted show, but new audiences will soon become fans of his country style.

Danny Grant makes you feel like you’re a part of the rodeo with his interactive show. Billed as the “World’s Smallest Rodeo” he’s coming back to Walton as part of their Northeast tour, as they have played all over the country. The interactive show includes roping, riding, and good old fashioned rodeo fun. He will be playing in the tent, mostly in the early evenings, between 6-7 p.m., but he will also have a matinee show on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Monday night the featured entertainment will be Sundown Band, playing from 8-11 p.m. Sundown plays top country /classic rock music all around the Chenango, Madison, Otsego and Broome County areas of New York. They are a five piece band who play everything from country favorites Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, and Luke Bryan, to classic oldies like Pat Benatar and ZZ Top, 

Tuesday, starting at 4 p.m. the youth and junior karaoke contests kick off with Northern Star Productions. Jeff and Wendy Wood present a professional show - singers sign up from the audience. At 7 p.m. the adults take their turn on the stage, and you are sure to be impressed with the local talent you’ll hear.  Come back on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the finals and the winners to be announced.

On Wednesday at 1 p.m., fairgoers will again be able to shine as the Delaware County Fair’s Got Talent show begins. You can register in advance for this competition by filling out the form on the fair’s web page (delawarecountyfair.org). Look under the “fair contest” heading on the far right of the banner.

You can also sign up the day of the contest after 12 noon in the entertainment tent. Contestants under 18 will need the signature of a parent or guardian. The top three winners receive cash prizes.

Wednesday evening from 7:30-10:30 stop by to hear The Ampersand Project, a traveling acoustic duo from the Elmira/Corning area. Locals may have seen them play at the Cattleman’s Lodge in Sidney. They cover rock, pop, and country music genres, so everyone should enjoy them and their concert.

If you like oldies, Mary Francis Perricone puts on a lively show to takes you back in time with songs from the 50s through the 70s. Perricone has toured the United States and Canada with long runs in Vegas.

When she moved to Sidney Center she began singing in the area as a member of Harmony Street, an a cappella group. She is now known for her shows at the Otsego and Delaware County fairs, and other fundraisers in the area.

The Barnyard Saints Band takes the stage Thursday night at 8 p.m. The Southern Tier’s newest Outlaw Country Band, they have a foot stomping beat mixed with a classic tube sound. The evening will bring to mind the days of the “Old Barn Dance,” but mixed with more modern music. If you’re a fan of old classic country like the sounds of Waylon, Hank, Hank Jr., and Willie, don’t miss this concert. The band mixes in second generation, including new underground artists like, Shooter Jennings, Lucas Nelson, Hank the Third, and many more. 

Walton’s dance studio will present their Catskill Dance Expo at noon Friday. Area girls and boys will put on a show under the direction of Rebecca Hanley.  The studio has really grown and the performances are sure to impress all who attend.

Two more acts will round out the evening with New Orleans singer John Paul at 4 p.m., followed by the Cowboy Circus at 6:30 and the Beadle Brothers Band playing country at 8.

The final act of the week will be BJ Hendrickson at 7 p.m. Saturday. He plays a range of songs from the 60s to the present day. Everyone should know them and the audience is encouraged to sing along. BJ returns as a solo act this year, and has been busy playing locally at venues such as the Roscoe Beer Company, The Schoolhouse Inn, The Shire Pub, and Seminary Hill and Orchard in Callicoon.
