MARGARETVILLE — The Open Eye Theater will present “Dog Mom,” a comedy by award-winning screenwriter and playwright Tate Hanyok, Oct. 15-25, in partnership with Heart of the Catskills Humane Society and Superheroes Humane Society.
The play follows Liz, a career-focused New Yorker whose life changes when she reluctantly fosters a stray dog. “Dog Mom” won the B Street Theatre New Comedies Festival, was published by Broadway Play Publishing and was selected for a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere.
The shelter partnership will highlight adoptable animals on the theater’s website and social media. Theatergoers can also view photos of available pets in the lobby, donate supplies and meet shelter representatives on select performance dates.
Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. Oct. 15-17 and Oct. 22-24, and Sundays at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25.
Tickets are $25, with student tickets available for $10. Friday performances are pay-what-you-will. Tickets are available at theopeneyetheater.org or by calling 845-586-1660.
