New York State Police issued 15 tickets in Deposit during “Operation Hard Hat,” on June 21 where troopers monitored traffic on Interstate 17 in Deposit while road crews made bridge repairs. During the detail, a trooper blends in with the workers and watches for risky and unsafe behavior.
Fifteen tickets were issued, including 11 for speeding.
Motorists are urged to drive responsibly in work zones. Follow posted speed and other signs and put down any distractions. Move over a lane when it’s safe and slow down when encountering vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights.
