This week’s volunteers of the week are the local Girl Scouts. They have just started selling cookies, so don’t miss your chance to support their efforts. Find your favorite Girl Scout Cookie entrepreneurs and make a purchase. This is their largest annual fundraiser which fuels service projects, troop travel, summer camp and more. 

Catskill Mountain Little League representatives will be at Delaware Academy tonight - Thursday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. to answer questions and help register players for the 2023 season. The cost is $40 for the first player and $20 each after that (provided they are the brother/sister of the initial registrant). The 2023 Ice Harvest at Hanford Mills Museum will be Friday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 11 at 51 County Highway 12 in East Meredith. Ice blocks will be cut from the pond, and then moved to the ice house where they will be stored until summer. Admission is by donation. Visitors can help harvest ice from the frozen pond if the ice is 8 or more inches thick. If the ice is 6-8 inches thick, Hanford Mills staff will be on the ice, and visitors can help transfer the harvested ice to the ice house. The Delhi Rotary Club will host a sweetheart breakfast at Delhi Fire Hall Saturday, Feb. 11 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Delhi Fire Department, 140 Delview Terrace Extension. Donate what you can for pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee, tea and OJ.

Tractor Supply Company, 69 Main Street, will host a valentine adoption day event Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Visit the TSC Valentine kissing booth with your pet and meet adoptable pets. Heart-shaped catnip cat toys and other heartfelt items will be available at our adoption booth for your furry friends.

The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, 46610 NY-10, will host a Valentine’s adoption week event Saturday, Feb. 11 through Saturday, Feb. 18. Celebrate Valentine’s Day week and receive $14 off adoption fees for a purr-fect cat or dog. Find your heart’s special match -visit the Humane Society in Delhi or our PetSmart Adoption Center in Kingston for your new furry family member.

There will be a pancake breakfast hosted by the Hamden Hill Ridge Riders from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Clubhouse, 1021 Covert Hollow Road in Hamden. Let the Hamden Hill Ridge Riders cook you a hearty filling breakfast and get a chance to meet the club members and learn what the club is all about. Cost by free-will offering; take-outs are available and the facility is handicap accessible.

Womxn for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (W.I.D.E) will present an evening of chamber music with Sugar Hill Salon Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Bushel Collective, 106 Main Street. Sugar Hill Salon is a music collective from Harlem that centers on black and brown woodwind artistry in classical music. Their mission is to showcase wind repertoire that lacks representation within “traditional” chamber programming while uplifting black and brown musicians performing them. With each performance, Sugar Hill Salon is decolonizing classical music for a more equitable future for black and brown communities. Space is limited; advance tickets are strongly recommended.
