Last week’s trivia question: How many years has the Delhi Fair on the Square been going on? This year, the Fair on the Square celebrates 50 years. The Fair on the Square began in 1973 as a fundraiser to help people affected by a flood. A group of concerned citizens, including the mayor at the time, Eleanor Volante, Rodney Decker, Wylla Rabeler and others, got together to host a fundraiser on the square. This event has morphed into what we now know as Fair on the Square. Those interested in supporting the 50th anniversary of the Fair on the Square, fill out a sponsorship form at forms.gle/qkzCd89AJDhQa4Kn9 and return a sponsorship with a check payable to “Delhi Fair on the Square Committee” to the Fair on the Square Committee c/o Correspondence Secretary, PO Box 85, Delhi, NY 13753. You can also donate via Venmo at DelhiFair-on-the-Square-Fots. This year’s Fair on the Square will begin Friday, July 7, and will feature a parade to commemorate the 50th year. To participate in the parade starting at 6 p.m., fill out forms.gle/mAKVbYjcN9KHTWSy5 or email delhifots@gmail.com for more info.
