Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond was officially sworn in Dec. 29 following his re-election to a third term as sheriff.
The oath of office was administered by Delaware County Court Judge John Hubbard during a ceremony attended by county officials, law enforcement personnel, family members, and community supporters. DuMond, who said he has served Delaware County residents with dedication and integrity throughout his tenure, was grateful for the continued trust placed in him by voters.
“I am deeply honored by the confidence the people of Delaware County have shown in me once again,” he said. “It is a privilege to serve this county, and I remain committed to upholding the law, ensuring public safety, and supporting the dedicated men and women of the sheriff’s office.”
During his previous terms, DuMond said he focused on community-based policing, professional development for staff, and strengthening partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing these efforts in the years ahead.
