The Roxbury Arts Group will administer the Statewide Community Regrant (SCR), known locally as the Delaware County Arts Grant and a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts.

Samantha Nick, Grants and Community Coordinator for the Roxbury Arts Group, will present six grant information sessions throughout Delaware County and online via Zoom. At each information session, Nick will review grant guidelines, provide an overview of the grant process, highlight successful grant-funded projects, and provide tips for successful grant writing.

Nick said the Delaware County Arts Grant provides a wonderful opportunity for artists and organizations to get funding for projects happening in Delaware County. This year’s funding priorities include projects happening inside local public schools and creative place making, which helps rejuvenate public spaces and create public art.”

Delaware County Arts Grant funds are used to support arts projects in three categories: Community Arts, Creative Learning, and Individual Artists. This year the Roxbury Arts Group has announced an expansion, adding the Individual Artist category.

Roxbury Arts Group Executive Director Jenny Rosenzweig said at the core of the success of the Delaware County Arts Grant Program is local decision making. Grant awards are decided by community members, educators, and business leaders, people who have first-hand knowledge about the communities that we serve, and they help determine which projects would have the greatest impact right here in Delaware County.

Anyone interested in applying for a Delaware County Arts Grant to support projects and programs that will take place in 2023 must attend an information session. All information sessions are free and open to the public.

In person sessions will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at William B Ogden Free Library, 42 Gardiner Place, Walton, and Friday, Nov. 5 at noon, Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury, 607-326-7908.

Online sessions are Thursday, Sept. 22, via Zoom at 5:30 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 7, via Zoom at noon, and Wednesday, Oct. 29, via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. Individual artist session is Tuesday, Nov. 5, via Zoom at noon.
