Students gathered at a Delhi Police training facility on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 18–19, for New York State’s mandatory 18-hour concealed carry course, a requirement for residents seeking a full carry pistol permit under the state’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act. The class, is taught by certified state firearms instructors, covers firearm safety, handling and maintenance, state and federal law, and self-defense scenarios, and requires participants to pass both a written exam and a live-fire proficiency test.
