Burneda E. Ford

Burneda E. Ford, 97, passed away at home peacefully on April 3, 2024. She was surrounded by her family.

Born on Oct. 21, 1926 in Malone, Burneda was the daughter of the late Joseph Raville and Dora Tucheron.

She was married to Fred “Pat” D. Ford, who passed away, on July 30, 1955.

Burneda worked for the Delaware County treasurer for many years as an account clerk and typist.

She had many hobbies including reading, knitting and bingo. She was a lover of playing cards, especially with her family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling and bowled on a league for over 40 years. She was a 50-year member of the Donald W. Gleason Post #190 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Delhi. Burneda was a member of the Hamden Seniors and an worked as an  election inspector for Hamden. In 1985, she was given the honor of “Mother of the Year” by The Walton Reporter. Her ”bucket” list consisted of traveling to Alaska and Hawaii. She accomplished traveling to both, Alaska on a cruise in 2001, and Hawaii in 2011. Her greatest passion was her family; she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burneda is survived by many family members, daughter Brenda Turner (Craig), daughter Becky Titch, daughter Betsy Decker (Golden), daughter Mary Wolcott, son Fred Jr., (Lisa), son Donald (Tracy Dugan), daughter Michelle Stoop (Michael), and son Michael (Connie Stevens). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, siblings and husband Fred, Burneda was predeceased by her son, Ronald, and sons-in-law Barry Titch and Ralph Smith.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at St. John the Baptist Church, 25 Benton Ave., Walton, with the Rev. Edward  Golding, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Hamden Cemetery.
