BOVINA CENTER — The third annual Bovina 5K, a community event that supports trail development efforts in the hamlet and surrounding area, will be held July 25.
The race will begin at 9 a.m. at Creamery Park and follow a 5-kilometer course through Bovina Center and the surrounding countryside before returning to the park. Participants may run or walk the course.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Bovina Trails, including a feasibility study by the Catskill Mountain Club examining future trail opportunities in the area.
A free one-mile Kids Run will follow the race at 10:30 a.m.
The first 125 registered participants will receive a commemorative race T-shirt.
Dogs are not permitted on the race course, though leashed pets are welcome in the start and finish area at Creamery Park.
