Baker sentenced for aggravated vehicular assault

DELHI - Delaware County Acting District Attorney Shawn J. Smith announced that Courtni N. Baker, 32, of Sidney appeared before Delaware County Court Judge John L. Hubbard Monday, Sept, 25, and was sentenced for aggravated vehicular assault from the charges precipitated by a crash in February in the village of Sidney where the vehicle she was driving struck a pedestrian walking home from school.

The defendant had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Hubbard sentenced the defendant to an indeterminate term of state prison having a minimum of four years and a maximum of 12 years for the aggravated vehicular assault conviction. Hubbard also sentenced the defendant to serve a concurrent one-year sentence for the Aggravated DWI conviction. The court imposed fines totaling $2,270 and ordered that the defendant’s driver’s license be revoked.
