$287,684 Awarded By Community Foundation

Grants to be Used for Capital Projects, Programs, and Operating Support

Forty organizations in the region were awarded grants totaling $287,684 from the Community Foundation for South Central New York. The successful grant applications, approved through a competitive volunteer panel and board review process, are for a variety of capital projects, operations, and programming.

Organizations funded included; museums, theater groups, libraries, human service agencies, animal welfare organizations, chambers of commerce, food banks, housing programs, and public safety agencies and other non- profits, municipalities, and school districts.

The following organizations in Delaware County were awarded grants: Andes Public Library, $2,500 for their Arm of the Sea theater performance; Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, $5,000 for sidewalk repairs at Stamford Village Apartments; Community Music Network, $15,000 for organizational capacity building support; Franklin Stage Company, $11,000 for 2022 season support.

The Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 1997, encourages and facilitates personal and institutional philanthropy throughout the region by managing 140 funds, within the Foundation’s 38-million-dollar endowment, that are established by donors to achieve specific charitable goals. From these funds, the Foundation has awarded over $21 million in grants to the area’s nonprofits to help address community concerns and improve the quality of life in the region. The Community Foundation serves donors and nonprofits in five New York counties: Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga.
