‘100 Years of Fashion’ at Old Franklin Day

Posted

This year’s Old Franklin Day is bringing back the traditional and popular fashion show, featuring local models wearing clothing styles from 1860 to 1960. “100 Years of Fashion” is presented by The Vintage Closet and Threads Past and Present, in honor of Lois Stalter.

The show will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. in Franklin Central School, 26 Institute Street, Franklin, as part of the day-long Old Franklin Day festivities. The show will be curated by Linda Hovey, manager at Rainbow’s End in Oneonta and owner of Threads Past and Present, a vintage clothing business. Linda’s co-curator is Johanna Marr from The Vintage Closet at the Green Giraffe Antique Shop.

Hovey said she and Marr are bringing the show back by popular demand to honoring the late Lois Stalter, a local resident and fashion history expert who organized successful fashion shows on Old Franklin Day for years.
