Willard John Coss Jr., 62, of Walton, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020.
Born in Margaretville on Nov. 5, 1957, he was the first child of the late Willard Coss Sr. and Lillian (Yearry) Coss.
Growing up on the family farm in Andes he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended Andes Central School where he enjoyed playing basketball. A graduate of BOCES Food Service Program, he greatly enjoyed cooking and baking. As a member of the Creekside Social Club he prepared meals, and his baking creations won ribbons at the Delaware County Fair. He also enjoyed trips with his club friends as well as bowling, and family togetherness for the holidays.
Willard will be remembered for his great sense of humor, the jokes he told to bring a smile to someone’s face or just a laugh, and the deck of playing cards he never left home without.
He is survived by his mother Lillian of Massachusetts; three sisters, Lorraine Mann (Paul) of Meridale, Dorothy Coss of Massachusetts and Pauline Clement (Bernie) of South Carolina; four brothers, Jim Coss, Delhi, Kenny Coss, Delhi, Walter Coss, Sidney and Paul Coss, Kentucky; two aunts Margaret Dougherty and Shirley Yearry both of Delhi, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his brother Wayne Coss.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday Feb., 13, from 4-8 p.m. at the Walton Grange Hall, 139 Stockton Avenue, Walton.
