Timothy Hess, 57, of Deposit, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was predeceased by his parents Malcolm Hess and Mary Bohrer Miller.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Carol (Vagts) Hess of Deposit; his daughter and son-in-law, Katharina and Brian Card of Candor; son Alexander Hess of Deposit, granddaughter, Magnolia Card; brother David Hess of Deposit and sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Dave Stauber of McGraw; brothers and sisters-in-law Dan and Tiffany Miller of Deposit, and Dusty and Kellie Miller of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla; along with many nieces and nephews.
Tim graduated from Deposit Central School and attended SUNY Broome where he earned an associates degree. Following college Tim began his career as a Delaware County Deputy Sheriff and was still considered a special deputy. He worked at the SUNY Delhi University Police Department where he served for 35 years and retired as a captain. Tim enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also collected antique toys.
Most important to Tim was spending time with his loving family and friends, particularly his granddaughter Maggie who was the apple of his eye. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 12, at Assembly of God Church, 1 Maple Lane, Deposit.
The family received friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 Second Street, Deposit, on Friday, March 11, and on Saturday, March 12, at the Church.
Interment will be held in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit.
