Thad Daniel MacRabie, 45, of Walton passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 10, 2022 at home from complications of diabetes.
Thad was born on July 1, 1977 in Walton, the son of the late John MacRabie and Robin (Gray) Sprague.
Thad attended BOCES where he studied small engine repairs. He enjoyed color by numbers, going on car rides with his dog, Bear, working on cars. He was always “tinkering” on something, and helping people with odd jobs. Thad attended Riverside Alliance Church and during that time volunteered and help out wherever they needed him. Thad loved to joke around, make people smile and help where he could.
Thad is survived by his loving family, the light of his world, his daughter Kalea Boulanger, stepson Riley Boulanger, brothers Randy (Mary-joe) MacRabie of Walton, Jaden (Destinie) MacRabie of Norwich, sister Nicole Merwin of Walton, stepbrother Jeff (Barbara) Zorn, stepsister Carina Healy; nephew John (Myriah) MacRabie with his children Espn and Sutton of Walton; his niece Haley MacRabie of Walton, nephew Trever Merwin with his children Audree Nicole Merwin, Monty Merwin, and Karson Merwin of Walton; stepparents Cathy MacRabie of Nebraska and Edward Sprague of Walton, good friend Nick Barnes and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents John MacRabie and Robin Gray-Sprague.
Friends and family are invited to call Thursday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where funeral services will be held at 12:30 with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating. Burial will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
