Spring Valley man dies in Cat Hollow MVA Feb. 11

COLCHESTER - A Spring Valley man was killed in a two car, head-on  motor vehicle collision on state Route 206/Delaware County route 7, commonly referred to as Cat Hollow, Saturday, Feb 11, according to a Colchester Police Department press release.

Fritz Pierre, 40, of Spring Valley, was the front seat passenger in a vehicle driven by Venol Pierre, 51, of Spring Valley, was killed when Venol Pierre lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and was struck in the front passenger door, causing the vehicle to become airborne and land on a guide rail. 

Fritz Pierre was trapped in the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the press release.

The vehicle driven by Venol Pierre was struck by a vehicle driven by Phyllis Leone, 59, of Downsville, who was traveling south. Leone was transported by Roscoe EMS to Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton  with internal injuries.

Venol Pierre was transported by Hancock EMS to Orange County Regional Medical Hospital with multiple serious injuries.

Louis Ciceron, 34, a back seat passenger in the vehicle driven by Pierre, was ejected from the vehicle and was found unconscious, lying next to the vehicle. Ciceron was transported by Downsville EMS to Orange County Regional Medical Hospital. Ciceron suffered from multiple serious injuries. 

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Delaware County 911, Delaware County Department of Public Works, and the Downsville, Hancock, and Roscoe-Rockland fire and emergency medical services departments, assisted at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation.
