The Sidney Memorial Public Library has released its scheduled events for Oct. 13-31. Call 607-563-1200 to register for programs and activities, or to ask questions regarding the programs. Call 607-265-3330 for questions or to register for events at the Masonville Branch Library. The Sidney Library and the Masonville Branch Library are now completely fine-free. This does not include fees for lost or damaged items.

The Friends of the Libraries bi-annual giant sale is back in the Smart Community Room. Books, DVDs, VHS tapes, audiobooks and magazines at low prices. Hours are Thursday, Oct. 20, 5-8 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 21, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 13

3-4:30 p.m.: Crafts & Creations w/Miss Cassandra: Sleuths & Spies. Writing with invisible ink, figuring out clues to solve the mystery and more. This in-person program is designed for school aged children and consist of Crafts, STEAM, and new activities weekly.

Friday, Oct. 14

3-4:30 p.m.: Tween Club: If you are in grades 5-7, you are invited to the new Tween Club for crafts, games, computer fun, and more - a place for the Tweens to hang out and be creative.

Saturday, Oct. 15

10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Painting with Joy, a new acrylic painting class in the community room. Attendees will paint the fall scene shown on the Facebook events page. Limited space; $5 material fee at sign-up.

10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. – Friends of the Libraries Books a la Carte sale every first and third Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 17

1-3 p.m.: Open Tech Hours. Registration required; for those struggling with phones, laptops, or tablets. Stop by or call to register.

1-4 p.m.: “In-Stitches” quilting group meets on the first and third Mondays of the month from 1-4 p.m. Work on the project of your choice. Quilters enjoy the friendships and shared knowledge. Beginners are welcome and can receive individual instruction. 

3-4:30 p.m.: Minecraft Club (ages 8-17) participants - join the library’s private world. Participants will help complete objectives/create. If the class is full, participants may play at the Osmo station or with Robots Dash & Dot while waiting a turn to play Minecraft.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

10 a.m.: Story Time theme: pumpkins. Fun with stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft.

10:45 a.m.: Music for Munchkins. Spooky Songs theme. First and third Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m.; a story and a bouncing, dancing, good time to sing and play instruments.

2:30-3:15 p.m.: Zoom Lego Club: Builders of all ages welcome. NEW Lego weekly challenge selected by Miss Cassandra. Builders will share their Lego Masterpiece via Zoom link.

3:15-4:30 p.m.: In-person weekly Lego Club for builders of all ages. Build a masterpiece; free build or receive a building challenge from Miss Cassandra. Participants will have the chance to display their masterpiece in the glass case.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

3:30-5 p.m.: Teen Club for those in grades 7-12. FREE crafts, games, computer fun, and...snacks.

5:30-7:15 p.m.: Open Tech Hours. Registration required for those struggling phones, laptops, or tablets. Stop by or call to register.

Thursday, Oct. 20

3-4:30 p.m.: Crafts & Creations w/Miss Cassandra: STEM: Candy Corn Catapults. This program was designed for school-aged children consists of Crafts, STEAM, and other creative activities each week.

Friday, Oct. 21

3-4:30 p.m.: Tween Club is for those in grades 5-7. Crafts, games, computer fun, and more - a place for Tweens to hang out and get creative.

2:30-3:15 p.m.: Zoom Lego Club: Builders of all ages welcome! Join us each week for a NEW Lego challenge selected by Miss Cassandra. Builders will get the chance to share their Lego Masterpiece. 11 a.m.: Pre-K STEM: Theme - Pumpkin Life Cycle. This program involves children in exploring and experimenting to encourage curiosity.

3:30-5 p.m.:  Teen Club for those in grades 7-12. FREE crafts, games, computer fun, and...snacks.

6-7 p.m.: Adult Trivia Night: Four rounds of 10 questions. Each round a different topic. Winner(s) will be announced at the end of each round and a grand prize winner at the end. Compete as an individual or a team of up to six. Email or call Cassandra.
