Sidney woman arrested, held without bail

SIDNEY - Courtni N. Baker, 31, Sidney, is being held at the Delaware County Jail without bail following a Feb. 15 arrest charging her with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, reckless driving, first-degree vehicular assault, third-degree escape, unlicensed operator, operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection, failure to used designated lane and failure to notify the department of motor vehicles of an address change.

Baker is accused of striking a 14 year old child on Sharon Street, Sidney, with her vehicle and leaving the scene of the incident. Sidney Police say the child was walking home from school.

Police say Baker returned to the scene a short time later and was arrested. While being processed by police at the Sidney Police Department, Baker attempted to escape, but was quickly detained, police said.

Baker is being held in the Delaware County Jail without bail.

The investigation is ongoing, police say and additional charges could be forthcoming.
