Shirley J. Loucks, 78, of Bloomville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

Born in 1942 in Gilboa, Shirley was the daughter of the late Elsie Stevens and Melvin Mattice.

Shirley worked at Grand Union in both Delhi and Stamford for over 30 years. 

She touched many lives. Shirley enjoyed baking and was well known for her Christmas cookie platters. She enjoyed going to yard sales and was never one turn down a shopping and/or lunch date with her daughters, sisters, or nieces. Shirley was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. She took pride in her home and was always welcoming to anyone who came to visit. She also liked family gatherings, playing cards and dominoes. Her greatest passion was her family - they were the most important thing in her life and she will be missed by all.  Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by sons Richard H. Loucks Jr. and Russell A. Loucks; her brothers Kenneth Mattice and James Mattice; and her sister, Sandra Martin.

She is survived by her husband, Richard H. Loucks Sr.; daughters Debbie Martin and Karen Hall-Green; grandchildren Mathew Speece (Shelley), Chad Loucks (Bridget), Travis Loucks (Brittany), Ryan Loucks, Brielle Loucks, Chelsea Campbell (Ryan), Schuyler Speece, Taylor Loucks, Morgan Loucks, and Brandon Hall; sisters Ronda Frazee (Rick) and Nancy Rice (John); her brother Kenneth Rockwell (Sandy); her aunt, Patty Mattice; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
