Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the promotion of Sergeant Heath Goff of Delhi to first sergeant, effective Jan. 1.
Goff began his career with the sheriff’s office as a correction officer in 2008, advancing to corporal and sergeant in 2020. He has served as assistant director of the Delaware County Corrections Academy, training director, and accreditation manager, and holds a master instructor certification from the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services, along with other specialized credentials.
As first sergeant, Goff will oversee accreditation programs, training division, and policy development for all divisions of the sheriff’s office. He will also play a key role in the professional standards division.
DuMond praised Goff’s qualifications saying the promotion ensures the sheriff’s office maintains the highest standards of training, professionalism, and accreditation.
