Roy Alan Michael, born May 11, 1947, formerly of Walton, passed away on June 20, 2020, with his loving daughter, Doobie, by his side.
Roy worked many different jobs while in Walton; Walton Reporter, S.J. Baileys, Dellwood at Frasers, Meadow Brook Dairy, USDA Soil Conservation Service, and Walton Central Jr.- Sr. High School.
He and his former wife Gina Flynn moved to Florida in 1989 and he worked as a night watchman for a sand and gravel company before finishing up his working career as a set-up man for a taxidermist, just around the corner from their home.
Roy is survived by his daughter Doobie (Dithanne) and son Shannon, both in Florida; his siblings Jack and Betty (Storrer) Constable of Walton and family, Jo (Michael) and Phil Childs of Maine, N.Y. and family, and Andy and Debra (Dupont) of Frankfort, N.Y. and family.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Blanche (Hap Constable) Michael and former wives Judith (Lambrecht) McCall and Gina Flynn.
Roy will always be remembered for his good advice and great stories. He was one of the first turkey callers in the Catskills; always willing to help out beginning callers, not only with the call but also the tactics of the hunt. He so loved to hunt and fish in the Catskills. At the end of the day came the stories and they were many. He always said the stories were one of the best parts of the outing.
A special thanks to Doobie for being her father’s special caregiver for the last few years. He was cremated in Florida and after leaving some ashes with Doobie and Shannon, the remaining ashes have been brought back to his beloved Catskill Mountains.
