Robert T. McRedmond, 62, of Wilmington, Del., passed away Tuesday May 19, 2020 at Christiana Hospital after a long illness. He was born April 27, 1958 in Delhi, the son of William and Doris (Cantwell) McRedmond.
Growing up in Delhi, Robert (Bob) attended Delaware Academy, graduating in 1977. He later moved to Florida and started a carpentry apprenticeship and in 1982 he married Carol Barker. Not long after, he moved to Delaware where he raised his family and pursued his love of carpentry, becoming a Master Carpenter, woodworking, and fishing. Bob enjoyed frequent trips back to Delhi to spend time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor, with a smile always on his face and an infectious laugh. Bob adored his family, especially spending time with his grandsons.
Bob is survived by his children Amber McRedmond (Brandon Direda) and Robert McRedmond Jr. (Amy Dillion), his grandchildren Mason and Jaxson Direda and Kaylee and Aric Dillion, his sisters Anna Mason (Mike) and Mary Rosa (Doug), his nieces and nephews Jeremiah Rich (Daryn), Michael O’Dowd (Jessica), Micci (Chandler) and Taylor Mason, Haley and Brandy Rosa; two great-nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bob is predeceased by his parents William and Doris, his brother John McRedmond and sister Carol O’Dowd.
Due to social distancing and COVID- 19, a memorial for Bob will be held at a later date.
