Robert M. Carroll, 75, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing following a long illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1945 in Walton, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Edna Mae Thompson Carroll.
Robert served his state and country in the New York Army National Guard for over six years from 1967-1973. He worked at Amphenol Corp. in Sidney for over 30 years until his retirement. Robert was a member of the Masonville Fire Department and Ambulance Squad, Masonville Federated Church and American Legion Truman C. Tobey Post 32 in Walton. He was an avid NFL fan and always looked forward to Sundays. Before residing at the Bridgewater Center in Binghamton, Robert was a resident of the Bida Adult Home in Oxford for over 15 years.
Survivors include his wife Frances (Pritchard) Carroll of Masonville; daughters Dr. Kimberly Birmingham (Michael) of Dansville, and Wendy Paoletti (Robert) of Afton; brother David Carroll (Mary) of Walton; sister Rhetha Filer Mauro of Sidney Center; sister-in-law Wilburna Budine; nieces Debbie Caruso (Brian) and Judy Lindsay (Phil); nephew Randy Budine (Debbie); great-niece Sierra Caruso and grandchildren Jeffrey and Erin Birmingham and Anthony and Abbey Paoletti.
Robert is predeceased by his brothers William Carroll and Harry E. Carroll, Jr.
A graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Friday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Hamden Cemetery, Basin Clove Road, Hamden with Dr. Janet Schwengber officiating. Social distancing guidelines must be met, and face masks are required.
