Richard K. Lawrence, 82, of Walton, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, following a short illness.
Richard was born on July 24, 1939 in Oneonta, the son of the late Cornelius and Elenore (Lawrence) Seedyke. On March 21, 2009, he married Elizabeth Houck in Walton. Richard worked for many years at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton as a housekeeper. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church where he was always willing to help wherever he was needed. One of his favorite things was working at the Delaware County Fair in the pancake tent. He collected old cars, enjoyed listening to music especially his favorite singers - Glenn Miller and Big Band Era music, George Strait and Carrie Underwood - and he knew how to cut up the dance floor whenever he got a chance.
Richard is survived by his loving family, his wife Lisa Lawrence, his son, Christopher Lawrence of Philadelphia, Pa., brothers-in-law Gregory Houck of Endwell and Michael (Melanie) Houck of Fulton, his sisters-in-law Emily (Julio) Rubio of Amarilla, Texas, Rebecca Houck of Colorado, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton, NY 13856, or UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, 1 Titus Place, Walton, NY 13856.
