Raymond L. Seyforth, 73, of Bainbridge and Hamden, NY, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 26, 2022 with his three beautiful daughters by his side.

Born April 5, 1949 in Brooklyn, Ray was known for his selfless involvement and dedication to the community. As the founder, President and CEO of The Motorcycle Ice Cream Run for Kid’s Sake, he worked tirelessly for 18 years to help raise funds for local hospitals and children with life-threatening illnesses. His charitable nature extended to other community programs throughout the years such as STOP DWI, Ronald McDonald House, and the Delhi Fire Department for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Josann; daughters, Rachelle Seyforth (Eric Shipley), Erin Greene (Kevin), and Lindsay Pierce (Trent); eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Aside from his passion for helping others and earning the title of “Ice Cream Ray,” his favorite title was “Grandfather.” He adored his family and spent his retirement years enjoying time with his grandchildren, his beloved Saint Bernard Maxine, and rooting for his New York Yankees.

Ray positively touched many lives, and the family invite friends and family to gather Oct. 8 for a memorial motorcycle run followed by a celebration of life ceremony. Memorial Motorcycle Run: Hamden Town Hall at 9 a.m. – check-in at 8. Celebration of Life: American Legion 183, 22 Union Street, Sidney, NY 13838 from 12 p.m.-4 p.m.

In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ray’s name to one of the following charities: Ronald McDonald House, the National Children’s Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
