Pauline Marie DeMott Stevens of Bainbridge passed away on March 22, 2021, at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer. She was most recently a resident of Robinson Terrace in Stamford. She was cared for with compassion and dignity by the many nurses and aides, with special thanks to David Markell, RN and Coriena, CNA.

Pauline was born to Bill and Jennie (Ahrens) DeMott and was raised in Masonville. She is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Donnie, Jimmy, and Charlie DeMott. She is also predeceased by her son, Joe Stevens and her grandchildren Garth and Joelyn Sines.

Pauline is survived by her children; Nancy (Chad) Moffitt, Donna (Steve) Cutting, Doug (Sharon Gerlitz) Stevens, and Sharron (Jeff) Zablocki; her grandchildren Heather (Derrick Lambrecht) Sines-Caratelli, Sarah Yale, Hunter Moffit, Nathan (Mindy) Cutting, Tessa (Nick) Davidson, Mindi Ocasio, Kayla (Chris Schaffner) Ocasio, and Ashlee (Andy Figueroa) Ocasio; great-grandchildren Gabriella and Ian Caratelli, and Madison Bliss. Also surviving are her sister, Diane (Tony) Horoszewski and brother, Jerry DeMott and several nieces and nephews.

Mom will be remembered for her love of family, her generosity, her sense of humor, and her homemade apple pies.

A private graveside service will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge, where she will be buried next to her son, grandchildren, brothers, and parents. Consider a donation to a local food bank in Mom’s honor.
