COOPERSTOWN – The Otsego County Department of Public Health announced Saturday that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is up to nine. That's three more than the day before, when the county's first virus-related death was reported.
On Friday evening the county Coronavirus Task Force released a statement asking all second home owners and visitors to stay at home, and asked all businesses that host tourists to confirm that visitors are complying with all public health guidelines related to the virus. It also asked visitors from downstate to notify county officials that they're there.
“All visitors traveling to Otsego County from the New York City greater metropolitan area and other areas hard-hit by COVID-19, are asked to notify the Otsego County Department of Health upon their arrival and self-isolate for 14 days.”
“We look forward to a return of normalcy in the near future, when we can again welcome visitors to our area with open arms.”
