Norma J. Elmore of Downsville, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, June 7, 2021 at her home, with her family at her side. She was 67.
The daughter of the late Lorn and Joyce Winnie Keator, she was born Dec. 13, 1953 in Oneonta.
Norma had worked at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & RHCF for 31 ½ years as a Certified Nursing Assistant; she was a member of the Downsville Fire Department Emergency Squad; she was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Elmore, at home; four sons, David Elmore and his wife Tammy, Chris Elmore and his wife Kristen, Brian Elmore and his wife Traci all of Downsville, and Charlie Elmore and his wife Kimberly of Shinhopple; one daughter, Melissa Elmore of Downsville; one brother, Butch Keator and his wife Linda of Oneonta; three sisters, Pat Rifenbark of Florida; Shirley Nightengale of Tennessee and Jennie Torres of Kingston; nine grandchildren, Lucas, Carson, Dakota, Emma, Christopher, Kailey, Paige, Darren and Natalie; several nieces and nephews and her canine companion, Hunter.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 19 from 10 to 11 a.m.; a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe. The Rev. Richard Bell will officiate.
