DELHI – Delaware County reported no new cases of COVID-19 Sunday. According to the daily release from the County Public Health department, there are 62 confirmed positive cases reported to them by the state. An additional 82 people are under mandatory quarantine. Six test results are still pending.

Four people are still hospitalized, four people have died, and 25 have made a full recovery.

The County Board of Supervisors, in its accompanying release, reminded the public of state orders requiring face masks in any public space where a six foot separation cannot be maintained from others, and another mandate that anyone in hired public or private transport wear a mask.

“At this time, we are encouraging all Delaware County residents to comply with this directive along with all other social distancing measures. We are working diligently to protect the lives of all Delaware County residents. Health experts have agreed these measures are making a difference in is reducing the spread of the disease and these efforts have been successful at flattening the curve.”

Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced the state will begin testing thousands of state residents for antibodies to the virus in hopes of moving toward a reopening again. The tests will be done randomly, with a goal of 2,000 tests a day. Despite being described by Cuomo as more aggressive than testing being done anywhere in the country, it falls far short of the capacity needed to test New York's population of 19 million.
