Muriel F. Rowlands of Delhi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at the age of 92.
She is survived by her family, Deb and Steven Fleming, Russ Rowlands and Sue Pickens, Phil and Sylvia Rowlands, her grandchildren Kathryn, Margot, Matthew, Crystal, Lori, Derek, Jordan, Raisa, Cassidy, Brandon, Brianna, and Kellin; 21 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Kenneth Rowlands, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1929 in Mineola, the daughter of the late Edna and Frank Fuchs. She graduated from Mineola High School and married her high school sweetheart, Warren Rowlands, on May 27, 1950 at The First Presbyterian Church, Mineola. They lived on Long Island where their three children we born, until 1971 when they moved to Delhi.
For many years she worked as a receptionist for the Delaware County Family Court and Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jumbles, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed the love of her life, Warren, her husband of 72 years.
Muriel was an ordained Elder and member of the West Delhi Presbyterian Church where she served as clerk of session and as a trustee.
Due to COVID, a celebration of life service will be held at the discretion of the family in late spring or early summer.
