Molly J. Darville, 74, of Walton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, peacefully, at the Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.
Molly was born Feb. 11, 1947, in the town of Tompkins, the daughter of the late Harry Travis and Isabelle (Wood) Beers. She married Christopher Willard Darville on June 21, 1998, at the Walton Assembly of God, Walton.
Molly was an adventurer and passionate lover of those that God had placed in her life. She believed foremost that Jesus Christ was where everything in her life began and ended. Molly studied the Bible by pursuing studies with Berean School of the Bible, Springfield, Mo., starting in 1979. She used that love of the Word of God to impact the lives of those that she met daily. She made sure that those whose lives she touched knew they were loved and accepted.

In 1973, she earned her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and started her love of serving others in the maternity ward at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton. Molly developed that love as she continued nursing at the Delaware County Home and Infirmary in Delhi. While nursing at the Infirmary, she cared for those that she felt needed love most. Molly believed that everyone needed someone with them at their weakest times. Molly’s friendships allowed her to speak into the lives of those she served as she helped in publishing a book on the physical and spiritual care of Alzheimer’s patients.

After 20 years of serving as a nurse, she had to retire her license as a nurse due to a terrible accident causing the loss of her leg. Through God’s strength, she pursued and completed an education in recreational therapy from Delhi Technical College in 1997. Molly followed every task for God’s glory. She had many dreams that she felt that God had given her to pursue through his Holy Spirit. She left many things undone, but through the lives she has touched, her love will continue through those of us that miss her now.
Molly took to heart Paul’s words in Romans 12:9-13, “9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. Maine and Brenda L. Maine of Springfield, Mo., grandchildren Charla (Nathaniel), Alyssa, and Steven-Mark (Elaine) of Springfield, Mo., great-grandchildren Elsie and Darcy; her brother John (Ann) of South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her second husband Christopher Darville; mother Isabelle Beers, father Harry Travis; stepfather Orrin William Beers; and brothers Thomas and Joseph.
A celebration of life will be held at a place and time to be announced on Monday, June 28, followed by a burial at Walton Cemetery.
