Mitchell Wright, 69, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 17, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a brief illness.

Born on May 23, 1952, in Walton, he was a son of the late Harold and Harriet (Gilbert) Wright.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Harold “James” Wright; a sister, Jeanette Markle; and a nephew Johnny Markle.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.  at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street in Walton. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
