Mildred Catherine “Millie” Horton, age 89 of Batavia, passed away on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 at LeRoy Village Residential Health Care Facility.

Millie was born Thursday, Sept. 8, 1932 in Walton, a daughter of the late Robert Archibald “Archie” Deighton and Grace Alice Neicle Dieghton.

Millie enjoyed reading, old movies and watching Little House on the Prairie.

Mildred is the wife of Richard D. Horton who passed away on Feb. 22, 2019.

Surviving are her children, Martha (Roy) Horton-Beam of Batavia, Robert (Theresa) Horton of Orlando, Fla. and Carol (Tobin) Whitman of Binghamton; 11 grandchildren, Traci, Stephanie and Justin Horton, Jennifer Moss, Eugene, Samuel and Mitchell Mavoides, Nicole Beam, Michael and Lisa White and Tiffany Horton; five great-grandchildren, Kailynne and Liam Moss and Destiny, Julius and Brooklynne Mavoides, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Sharon White and her siblings Shirley Seymour of Downsville, Dorothy Gardepe of Walton, Robert Deighton of Walton and Floyd Deighton of Binghamton.

There are no prior calling hours. A private celebration of Millie’s life will be held at EverPresent Church in Batavia. She will be laid to rest in Horton Cemetery in Roscoe.
